SETA ACCREDITATION

SETA Accreditation is compliance for Skills Development Providers (SDPs)

This means that clients who use the services of an Accredited SDP can be sure that it complies with the required standards for learning and assessment services. It also means that all learners can be assured of a quality learning experience and that the credits and qualifications they achieve through the education and training service will be nationally and internationally recognized.

SDPs are measured against certain criteria to achieve this status.

There are 8 core criteria that are used:

  1. The organization’s aims, objectives and purposes are spelt out.

  2. Quality Management System (QMS): Policies and Procedures that implement quality management.

  3. Review mechanisms: The ways in which the implementation of policies would be monitored.

  4. Programme delivery: How learning programmes would be developed, delivered and evaluated.

  5. Staff policies: Policies and procedures for staff selection, appraisal and development.

  6. Learner policies: Policies and procedures for the selection of learners, with guidance and support.

  7. Assessment policies: Policies and procedures for forms of assessments that are used and how they are managed.

  8. Management system and policies: Indicate the financial, administrative and physical structures and resources of the organization, as well as procedures of accountability within the organization.
